July 26th, 2014 - McMillan Competes in St. Jude Classic at Thunder Valley
1Zach McMillan and the team traveled to Thunder Valley Speedway (Glenmora, Louisiana) on Saturday night. Twenty-eight Super Late Models registered for the Inaugural St. Jude Classic, which posted a $5,000 winner's check.

In preliminary action a mechanical failure in his heat race sent Zach to a b-main where he would start seventh. McMillan finished fourth in the b-main which earned him the 20th starting spot in feature event. Zach had worked his way up to twelfth in the running order before the race's first caution waved.

On the restart McMillan was caught up in a melee which sent him to the tail of the field for another attempt to go back green. Back underway McMillan began his march back through the field, but unfortunately disaster would strike again for the Kilgore, Texas native. A two-car tangle on the front straightaway collected Zach when he shot high on the track to avoid the incident, only to collide with another competitor. His night came to an end with a disappointing sixteenth place finish.

During the course of the feature McMillan battled the handle on his mount to a disappointing seventeenth place finish in the finale rundown.

Fifty-one entries were on hand for the unsanctioned event on Friday night, and Zach found himself starting deep in the sixth heat race. With the top two finishers moving onto the feature, McMillan finished sixth, which forced him run a b-main. Zach was unable to reach a transfer spot in the b-main however, he did win the bidding auction to lock in the 24th place starting spot, and ultimately registered a 19th place finish in 50 lap main event.

January 15th, 2014 - McMillan Opens 2014 Season at Tucson
1Zach McMillan opened his 2014 campaign on Saturday night in his #14z P&W Sales/Rocket/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) in the opening round of the 2nd Annual Winter Extreme.

The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) sanctioned event drew a field of 57 entries to the 3/8 mile oval, and via time trials Zach earned the 8th starting spot for his heat race. He would go on to finish 8th in his heat race, which relegated him to a b-main. In the b-main McMillan registered a 6th place finish, but with only the top two finishers moving onto the feature his night came to an early end.

On Sunday the winner's check was increased to $5,000-to-win, and struggles in qualifying left him starting at the back of a heat race. Unfortunately track conditions didn't allow for any passing in heat race and b-main action, and as a result McMillan's night came to an early end with a 7th place finish in his b-main.

The miniseries resumed on Wednesday with round #3, but Zach's luck would not improve. Struggles in time trials left Zach starting at the tail of his heat race, and he would be unable to overcome his starting position to transfer to the feature via heat race and b-main action as his night came to an early end.

The $5,000-to-win event attracted a field of 31 entries to the 3/8 mile oval, and struggles in preliminary action forced McMillan to utilize a series' provisional to start the main event on the tail of the field.

In the 50 lap finale McMillan had a strong car, and was up to the 12th position, when contact from another competitor forced him into the wall. As he bounced off the wall he spun and received a hard hit from a lapped car, which tore the nose off his car. The damage resulted in a disappointing DNF.

Saturday evening found the team competing at their home track, Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) as a $2,500-to-win race was held that attracted 18 entries to the 3/8 mile, clay oval. He failed to advance any positions in the heat race, and as a result started thirteenth on the feature grid. During the course of the feature passing became difficult but he was able to finish in the eleventh position.
